This Privacy Policy applies only to information that you provide to us through the Site. This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Site. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as those in our User Agreement, which can be found at: http://www.telfpa.com/useragreement

Information we collect and how we use it

Our main goals in collecting information and data are to provide and improve our Site, Services, features and content, to administer your use of the Site and Services and to enable users to enjoy and easily navigate the Site, and in order to do this we collect the following information;

Personally Identifiable Information

When you register with us through the Site and become a Member and when you choose to post a Listing or Job Advert or book Tuition, or when you wish to contact another Member, we will ask you for personally identifiable information. This refers to information about you that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Information"). Personal Information includes, but is not limited to, your name, phone number, email address and home postal address, but does not include your credit card number or billing information.

We use your Personal Information to provide the Service and administer your inquiries. We reserve the right to require certain Personal Information in order for you to use the Site. We may combine your Personal Information with information that does not give away your identity ("Non-Identifying Information”) and aggregate it with information collected from other TEFLPA Members and users for internal purposes only to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the Service and to analyse and understand how our Site and Service are used. We may also use the combined information without aggregating it to serve you specifically, for instance to offer a product to you according to your preferences.

TEFLPA reserves the right to view any Site content for the purposes of fixing problems, and to look for copyrighted or other inappropriate material.

Lesson Reminders, Newsletters, Marketing and Promotional Materials

We use your Personal Information to contact you with TEFLPA lesson reminders, newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. Please note that we may also use your Personal Information to contact you with information related to your use of the Service.

Like many websites, we use "cookies" to collect information. A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your browser from a website's computers and is stored on your computer's hard drive for record-keeping purposes.

We use cookies for two purposes. Firstly, we utilise persistent cookies to save your login information and preferences such as the language you use for future logins to the Site. Secondly, we utilise session ID cookies to enable certain features of the Site, to better understand how you interact with the Site in order to improve the Site and Site content and to monitor aggregate usage by TEFLPA Members and users and web traffic routing on the Site to estimate and report our total audience size and traffic. Third-party advertisers on the Site may also place or read cookies on your browser. You can configure the options in your browser to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting cookies from the websites you visit. However, if you do not accept cookies you may not be able to use the entire Site or all functionality of the Service. For example session cookies are required to login to your account.

Web Beacons

Our Site may contain electronic images known as web beacons. These are used along with cookies to compile aggregated statistics to analyse how our Site is used and may be used in some of our emails to let us know which emails and links have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of our customer communications and marketing campaigns.

System Identifiers

When you visit the Site, whether as a Member or a non-registered user just browsing, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website ("System Identifiers"). These System Identifiers may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address ("IP Address"), browser type and other log data or the webpage you were visiting before you came to our Site, pages of our Site that you visit, the time spent on those pages, information you search for on our Site, access times and dates, and other statistics.

We use this information to monitor and analyse use of the Site and the Service and for the Site's technical administration, to increase our Site’s functionality and user-friendliness, and to better tailor our Site to our visitors' needs. We may also use this information to verify that visitors to the Site meet the criteria required to process their requests. If you are a Member, we may associate your System Identifiers with your Personal Information in certain circumstances: TEFLPA uses certain third-party service providers to provide payment processing services, to TEFLPA for use of the Site and Services, and these third-party service providers may have access to Personal Information about TEFLPA Members and corresponding System Identifiers, including IP Addresses, in order to provide the applicable fraud detection and prevention services and payment processing services.

The Site may use social plugins, such as Facebook’s Like Button, which are provided and operated by third-party companies. Because of the use of social plugins you may send to the third-party company the information that you are viewing on a certain part of the TEFLPA Site. If you have an account with the third-party, they may be able to link information about your visit to our Site to your account with them. Similarly, your interactions with the social plugin may be recorded by the third party. Please refer to the third party’s privacy policy to find out more about its data practices, such as what data is collected about you and how the third party uses such data.
